Galileo Home: 30 kWh Energy Storage

Galileo Home: Smart Energy Storage for the Home
The transition toward a more sustainable energy system is changing the way homes produce, store and consume electricity.
Solar photovoltaic systems can generate clean energy during the day, but the ability to store that energy and use it when it is needed is becoming increasingly important.
This is where Galileo Home comes in.
Developed by StorEn, Galileo is an all-in-one solar and battery energy storage solution designed for residential applications. It combines solar energy management, battery storage and backup capabilities in a single integrated system, helping homeowners make greater use of the energy they generate themselves.
30 kWh of Energy Storage
Galileo Home provides 30 kWh of nominal battery energy, giving residential users substantial storage capacity for daily energy management and backup applications.
The system can also be expanded with up to four additional 30 kWh units, allowing storage capacity to grow as energy requirements increase.
This scalability makes Galileo suitable for homeowners looking for a storage system that can adapt to changing energy needs.
Up to 18 kW of Solar Input
Galileo is designed to work directly with solar photovoltaic generation.
The system supports a maximum solar input of 18 kW, with four MPPT inputs and a PV DC voltage range of 120–500 V.
This allows Galileo to efficiently integrate with residential solar installations and maximize the use of locally generated renewable energy.
Up to 12 kVA of Continuous Power
Galileo Home delivers up to 12,000 VA of maximum apparent power, with a maximum continuous current of 50 A. Its rated AC output power is 10.8 kW at a power factor of 0.9.
This level of output makes the system suitable for a wide range of residential electrical loads, while its load-start capability is designed to support demanding equipment.
Energy Independence and Backup Power
One of the key advantages of Galileo is its ability to support home backup and energy independence.
The system includes an islanding function, allowing it to continue supplying energy when operating conditions require the home to operate independently from the grid.
Galileo can therefore be configured for different residential energy scenarios, including:
Solar self-consumption
Energy storage
Backup power
Off-grid operation
Retrofit of existing solar installations
Solar + grid configurations
Solar + auxiliary generator configurations
The product documentation specifically illustrates full installation, off-grid and retrofit configurations.
Smart Control Through the StorEn App
Galileo is designed to give homeowners control over how their energy storage system operates.
Once installed, the system can be managed through the StorEn mobile application, allowing users to tailor its operation to their specific energy requirements.
Connectivity options include:
Wi-Fi 2.4 / 5 GHz
Ethernet
LTE/4G cellular connectivity
The system also includes RS-485 metering and revenue-grade AC metering with an accuracy of ±0.5%.
Designed for Indoor and Outdoor Applications
Galileo is designed to operate across a broad temperature range of −20°C to 60°C, with an operating humidity specification of up to 95% RH, condensing.
The enclosure is rated NEMA 1 and the system has an IP55 ingress protection rating.
Its installation configuration is floor- and wall-mounted, with overall dimensions of approximately 1696 × 1006 × 312 mm and a total installed weight of approximately 420 kg.
Designed for the North American Market
The Galileo Home model documented in this specification is configured for the United States and Canada, using a 120/240 VAC split-phase grid configuration at 60 Hz.
The system includes a broad range of certifications and compliance standards, including UL 1741, UL 9540, UL 9540A, UL 1973, IEEE 1547 and California Rule 21, among others.
